Autumn Leaves scores at Salisbury

By | Graduates, News | No Comments

Elkington Stud bred two year old Autumn Leaves (Jadwiga x Helmet) wins at Salisbury under a brilliant ride by Ryan Moore. A fantastic training effort from Clive Cox leaves the filly on a record of 2,2,1 for her 2 year old season. We’re looking forward to following her three year old campaign next year. Congratulations to all connections

Clive Cox purchased Autumn Leaves from us at the Tattersalls October yearling sale (Book 3) in 2016 for 15,000 guineas. Don’t miss her scopey Lethal Force half sister in the same sale this year- LOT 1317 selling on Thursday 12th October. She’s now a half sister to three winners from three runners!

A win for Evora Monte

3 year old Evora Monte (Paco Boy) wins impressively over 5f at Tagliacozza. Her dam Jadwiga now has 2 winners from 3 runners. Jadwiga also has a 2 year old, Autumn Leaves who is showing some promise and has her next run on the 17th August 2017. Could she make it 3 winners from 3 runners?

Another second for Fleeting Visit!

Eve Johnson Houghton and her team are on fire! Yesterday they had What About Carlo win at Newbury, Fleeting Visit 2nd at Ripon and Cool Bahamian 2nd at Newmarket. What a day! Congratulations to all connections.

Lovely to see Romp’s 4 year old half brother Fleeting Visit (Manduro) placing again, his third in a row! From 13 runs he has placed 7 times and won as a 2 year old. Currently on a rating of 84. Consistent horse!

Foaling season comes to an end

By | News | No Comments

The foaling season came to an end on the 16th June when boarding mare September Blaze scanned in foal to Telescope.

Charlotte and I work closely alongside stud vet Jacek Bobkiewicz of Woodlands Equine Services to ensure the foaling season runs as smoothly as possible. We have healthy mares and foals on the ground and all mares that were covered are successfully back in foal.

We’d just like to take this opportunity to thank our very hardworking team who work tirelessly throughout the season. We couldn’t do it without you. The Elkington Stud team can now take a well earned break (and catch up with some sleep) before the yearlings come in for sales preparation.

We’d also like to thank our owners for their continued support and for entrusting us with their beloved horses. We look forward to inviting your mare’s back next season.
