We provide year round temporary and permanent boarding for broodmares and youngstock. We also provide temporary rest and recuperation breaks for racehorses. Our purpose built facilities are located in North Oxfordshire in close proximity of the M40 and M1, an ideal central location for walk in mares visiting stallion studs in Suffolk, Gloucestershire, Hampshire and surrounding areas. Our facilities and experienced stud team provide a perfect environment for your horses to thrive.
Our foaling facilities include:
- Monarch stables within an American barn equipped with wired and wireless foaling cameras
- 40 acres of quality grazing
- Post and rail nursery paddocks for restricted exercise
- Two sand turnout pens
- Veterinary area complete with stocks
We use our own horse box allowing us to keep travel costs to a minimum for walk ins and veterinary visits.
Our staff live on-site in accommodation located right next door to the stable block. During the foaling season there is always one member of staff on sitting up duties and the stud manager oversees all foalings so you can rest assured your horses are in capable hands at all times.
During the foaling season our experienced stud vet, Jacek Bobkiewicz from Woodlands Veterinary Services visits regularly. Jacek lives only a short distance from the stud and provides a 24 hour call out service.
Feed and Forage Analysis

We stay in regular contact with our clients providing full foaling details, confirmation of covering, scan updates and foal progress.
We offer clients tailored packages to suit their requirements.

We consider ourselves very fortunate to have Elkington Stud so close by. The care and attention the team show to our breeding stock is second to none. The horses are all beautifully cared for and seem so very relaxed whenever we drop in to see them.Paul WebberPaul Webber Racing
